BobNJob

Marketplace Safety

Inspect first. Pay carefully. Plan pickup or delivery.

BobNJob reviews listings and inquiries, but every local transaction still requires good judgment from both the buyer and seller.
Important

BobNJob does not currently process payments or hold deposits. You may request protected payment, but no money is taken with that request and official checkout is available only after the transaction details are confirmed. BobNJob does not guarantee transactions or provide delivery. Never send money because someone claims BobNJob requires a deposit, upgrade or verification fee.

What BobNJob trust signals mean

  • Email confirmed means the seller used a private link sent to the email submitted with the listing.
  • Listing reviewed means BobNJob reviewed the listing content and photos before publication.
  • Active since and listing counts describe that seller's activity recorded on BobNJob.
  • Verified transaction review means BobNJob recorded the connected pickup or delivery as completed and issued one private review link to that buyer inquiry.

These signals do not mean BobNJob verified a seller's government identity, inspected the item, certified its condition or guaranteed a transaction.

A verified review is useful transaction history, but it does not guarantee that another item, seller interaction, pickup or delivery will have the same result.

Before agreeing to buy

  • Review the actual listing photos, condition and measurements.
  • Ask questions about damage, missing parts and removal needs.
  • Inspect the item in person before paying whenever reasonably possible.
  • Confirm that the material is appropriate for your project; use a qualified professional when safety or code compliance is involved.
  • Check model numbers for recalls before purchasing appliances, fixtures, tools or electrical products.

Protect your money

  • Do not pay before seeing the item and confirming the seller.
  • Never pay with gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency or an unexpected payment link.
  • Be cautious with peer-to-peer payment apps because transfers may be difficult to reverse.
  • Sellers should never accept an overpayment or send money back to a buyer.
  • Never share verification codes, passwords or banking details.

Read official guidance from the Federal Trade Commission and the Georgia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

Plan a safer pickup or delivery

  • Do not publish a full street address. Share exact pickup details only after both parties are ready.
  • Tell someone where you are going and avoid going alone.
  • Meet during daylight when possible.
  • Bring enough people, the correct vehicle and proper tie-downs for heavy or oversized materials.
  • Do not disconnect electrical, plumbing or gas systems unless a qualified person can do so safely and legally.
  • Stop the pickup if the item, location or situation differs materially from what was described.
  • For seller-offered delivery, agree in advance on the fee, distance, timing, unloading help and when payment will be made. BobNJob does not dispatch or supervise delivery.

For local tool rentals

  • Privately compare a current photo ID at handoff; do not post or send identity documents through a listing or inquiry.
  • Owner and renter should photograph the tool, serial number, guards, accessories, and visible wear together before it leaves.
  • Test normal operation at pickup and confirm that required safety features are present.
  • Write down the rate, deposit, start and return time, included items, and expectations for cleaning, batteries, blades, bits, or fuel.
  • Do not use a tool you are not trained or equipped to operate. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use appropriate protective equipment.
  • Stop if the tool, person, location, or terms differ materially from the reviewed BobNJob offer.

BobNJob does not inspect tools, provide insurance, or decide responsibility for loss, damage, or injury. BobNJob does not currently process rental payments or hold deposits; protected payment may be requested and is prepared only when official checkout is available.
